JOB PURPOSE As a Software Product Engineer, you will join the Engineering Technology team to turn civil and structural engineering needs into valuable digital products. Designed for an engineer transitioning into software product ownership, the role partners with global stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand user and business needs, define engineering rules, translate them into software requirements, and contribute to product discovery, validation, and continuous improvement. Throughout the product lifecycle, you will provide domain expertise, collaborate with software teams, support users, and gather feedback to ensure solutions are accurate, usable, and valuable. As needed, the role also supports project planning, coordination, and progress tracking to help ensure successful software delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES Engineering Requirements & Calculations: - Work with subject matter experts to analyze engineering calculations and document the applicable design codes, inputs, assumptions, calculation logic, limitations, exceptions, and expected results using design guides, product catalogs, calculation spreadsheets, and other approved technical references. - Translate engineering workflows and calculations into clear, testable software requirements, including business rules, acceptance criteria, and engineering references. - Clarify engineering requirements with development teams and support requirement reviews, implementation, and validation. Application Data & Integration: - Define application data requirements, relationships, validation rules, and integration needs in collaboration with SMEs, data owners, and development teams. - Develop data templates and guidance to support complete, accurate, and consistent application data - Support data preparation, validation, testing, and resolution of identified data issues. User Experience & Product Discovery: - Gather and analyze user workflows, pain points, use cases, and feedback to understand product needs and improvement opportunities. - Collaborate with stakeholders and UX teams to define problems, evaluate priorities, and develop or review prototypes. - Define visualization and user interaction requirements, including 2D/3D experiences, and translate validated feedback into product improvements or backlog items. User Support & Continuous Improvement - Support application-related questions and issues, provide available guidance, and coordinate with the appropriate product or technical teams when further investigation is needed. - Gather, categorize, and analyze user feedback and recurring issues to identify opportunities for product improvement. - Support users and SMEs in evaluating new or enhanced functionality and translate validated feedback into future improvements. Product Requirements, Validation & Delivery: - Translate user, business, and engineering needs into clear software requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes. - Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout implementation to clarify requirements and support effective validation. - Review delivered functionality against agreed requirements and work with stakeholders and SMEs to validate that solutions meet expected needs. - Supports project planning, coordination, and progress tracking to help ensure successful software delivery. Others: - Contribute to team objectives by identifying improvement opportunities, sharing engineering and product knowledge, and completing agreed actions that support product quality, adoption, and business value. - Share relevant engineering knowledge with the software development team through requirement discussions, technical walkthroughs, examples, and supporting documentation to improve shared understanding. - Perform other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields. Certification: Relevant certifications or completed training in product ownership, business analysis, Agile delivery, software testing, or software development are preferred. Desired knowledge, skills and experience: - Minimum 1 year of practical experience in civil or structural engineering (engineering design, calculation tools, process improvement, or technical software). - Strong ability to analyze structural calculation workflows, including inputs, design rules, code assumptions, constraints, exceptions, and expected outcomes using engineering judgment. - Proven experience in translating complex engineering concepts and workflows into clear, testable software requirements, acceptance criteria, user flows, and prioritized backlog items. - Demonstrated ability to proactively identify gaps, ambiguities, risks, and dependencies in technical requirements prior to implementation. - Experience defining and validating application data requirements, rules, structures, and integration needs (e.g., ARAS, PIM, SAP). - Experience reviewing UI/UX prototypes, defining visualization/interaction needs (2D/3D), and contributing to product discovery. - Solid working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile/Scrum delivery, Business Analysis, and software testing (UAT validation). - Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to bridge technical (developers, QA) and non-technical (global stakeholders, SMEs) teams. - Strong end-user support mindset: ability to analyze user feedback and recurring issues, coordinate technical investigations, and translate insights into continuous product enhancements. Other requirements: - Good logical thinking, analytical skill, proactive, result-driven, well-organized, and willing to learn new tools, technology. - Good written and verbal English communication skills. - Demonstrates integrity, accountability, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
