Job Primary The candidate is responsible to work together with mechanical engineer and electrical engineer to build automation non–standard equipment for R&D/NPI/ME production lines, and upgrade existing rigs or provide timely technical support. We expect the candidate to bring strong automation design background in software field. II-VI is looking for highly motivated individual who is a self-starter with dedication to teamwork. Primary Duties & Responsibilities 1) Software Architecture & Key parts selection — 30% -Participate in team key projects technical reviews. -Understand and document customer’s requirements. -Reach agreements with customer as CRS. -Transfer CRS into automation system design technical spec. -Work with mechanic colleagues to design/select suitable key parts as part of system conception design. -Make software architecture as part of system conception design. -Assess the software related risks with necessary mitigations. -Follow software standardization and rules. 2) Software development & coding — 30% -Develop software and coding per software architecture. -Test new developed modules if feasible. -Simulate environment to verify key algorithms. -Finish the whole software coding as scheduled. 3) Software set-up & Debugging & System integration — 30% -Set up IPC, control units for the automation system. -Install necessary software and related drivers. -Make each control module functional individually. -Debug software to make each functional units workable. -Integrate system to make the whole auto sequence workable. -Work with mechanic colleagues to continuously trial run system for reliability. -Support customer during the system qualification. 4) Software trouble-shooting & system issue solving — 10% -Trouble-shooting system issues with mechanic colleagues. -Document software related sections as ADP defines.

Education & Experience • BS or MS in Automation or Mechatronic or Electronic or Software. • MS with 5+ years or BS with 8+ years of experience in automation system software development, software debugging and system integration. • Master suitable software development languages such as C#, C or C++ language etc. • Basic electrical skill on automation system is a plus. Skills & Other Requirements • Skilled in the design of automation software. • Experience in motion, machine vision, deep learning technology application • Skilled in the use of software development language such as C#, C, C++. • Ability to develop complex automation projects independently. • Ability to work closely with colleagues. • Excels in a highly teamwork sprit cross team, department, and sites. • Able to support a flexible work schedule due to collaboration with multiple facilities’ customers and colleagues. • Hands-on development and debugging experience in automation system. • Mentor new staff or senior software engineer and guide them at work. • Adaptability, Customer Focus, Innovation, Planning and Organizing, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Continuous Improvement, Professional and Technical Knowledge and Skills, Reliable and Dependable, Results Oriented, Teamwork and Positive Relationships, Work Standards/Quality/ Details.
